How time flies!

I am amazed how quickly time flies by and I realise I have neglected my website journal. It’s  rainy here today and a perfect opportunity to catch up with recent events.

My new book ‘Poetic Woods’ was published in September last year and I am thrilled to say that it is being reprinted very soon and that I have had some wonderful feedback.  When I agreed to write this book, I was trying to get my head round a serious health issue, and I was not even certain if I would be able to finish it. Happily, I did complete it and am pleased to report that I continue to remain stable.  I have received some lovely emails and letters from people that I have never met, expressing concern, and sending me positive messages. I have had pockets full of stars sent in the post from afar. I have had music written using my poems as lyrics. How special is that. Thank you so much. It really does mean the world.

It is so important to try and stay positive and treasure the rewards that keep your spirits high. It is not always easy when the rain just will not stop and all the world, not just my own, is so full of uncertainty. However, the garden is beginning to sing again with the small white notes of snowdrops. It happens every year, but I really savour the arrival of spring more than ever now. Time is so precious.

I have been continuing to dabble in pottery and have been thrilled with some of my latest pots (and distraught over some major disasters!)  I find it hard to learn a new field, but it is good to have a challenge. I am really excited about some of the texture-making possibilities you can achieve with clay.   Painting -wise, I am launching myself into a new phase of exploration-possibly even inspired by my clay experiments. I am looking at new papers, surfaces and process and looking forward to seeing what happens. Feeling excited. So much to do!
